Preparing for a Motorcycle Adventure Ride

An adventure motorcycle trip is an exhilarating way to explore new places, but packing can be a daunting task. Here are some tips to help you pack for your next adventure ride:

1.Start with a checklist: A packing checklist will help ensure you don’t forget any essential items. Divide your list into categories such as riding gear, camping gear, tools, and personal items. Use the checklist to keep track of what you need to pack. At Vago Adventures we provide a lot of what you will need, so check out this list for those coming on one of our adventure tours, or check out this list if you want to see a good list of what you may need for heading out on your own ride.

2. Pack light: One of the challenges of packing for a motorcycle trip is the limited storage space. Pack only the essentials and avoid packing unnecessary items. Consider investing in lightweight gear to reduce the overall weight.

3. Choose the right luggage: Invest in motorcycle-specific luggage that is durable and waterproof. Hard cases, soft bags, and tank bags are popular options. Typically soft luggage is targeted to the more off-road and dirt riders and hard cases to the pavement touring riders. Tank bags are perfect for items you need quick access to, such as your phone or map.

4. Organize your gear: Organize your gear by category and pack them in separate compartments or bags. This will make it easier to find what you need and prevent items from shifting during the ride.

5. Prioritize safety: When packing, prioritize safety gear such as a helmet, gloves, and protective clothing. Consider packing extra layers for warmth, especially if you’re riding in colder weather.

6. Pack smart: Pack items in a way that balances the weight of your motorcycle. Place heavier items in the center and closer to the motorcycle’s center of gravity or lower on the bike so it doesn’t feel top heavy. Distribute the weight evenly between the left and right sides of the motorcycle.

7. Be prepared: Always pack a first-aid kit, a map or GPS, and a fully charged mobile phone. Carry a portable charger for your devices, and pack extra food and water.

By following these tips, you can pack efficiently for your adventure motorcycle trip. Remember to prioritize safety and enjoy the ride!
